At the Geneva motor show in March, Renault’s EZ-GO concept set out the company’s notion of how shared autonomous vehicles might function in the future. A large open-plan interior is accessed through the EZ-GO’s nose, via a pivoting ramp and opening canopy.

As these sketches by Andrey Basmanov, Marc Devauze and St├ęphane Janin illustrate, the vehicle takes the form of a glazed, diamond-shaped cabin nestling within a chassis frame featuring oversized wheels at each corner.

Seating set around the periphery of the cabin falls somewhere between the ambience of a private car and public transport. Renault says it plans to offer ride-hailing services with cars like the EZ-GO by 2023.
